Samsung is still providing the most recent security updates for its smartphones. The Galaxy A13 has recently received an update that addresses various vulnerabilities in the operating system, without introducing new features.
Galaxy A13 receives October security update.
The October security update is slowly being rolled out to Galaxy A13 owners in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. If no major issues are found during the initial release, it should be available in other regions soon, including Brazil.
This latest update, identified by the firmware version “A135FXXS9EXI2”, addresses a total of 42 security vulnerabilities, with 30 related to Android and 12 specific to the Samsung interface. It is highly advisable to install this update to prevent issues such as unauthorized access and data breaches.
When the update is ready, simply go to “Settings > Software Update > Download and install”. It is advised to have the phone connected to Wi-Fi and with a minimum of 50% battery before beginning the process to prevent any unexpected shutdowns.
The Galaxy A13, released in 2022 with Android 12, got its final major update, Android 14, in January. For stronger software support, consider the Galaxy A15 with four major updates or wait for the Galaxy A16 5G, set to receive updates for six years as per Anatel approval.
