Apple has upgraded the 24-inch iMac with the M4 chip, enhanced camera, new colors, and up to 32 GB of RAM, following the release of the iMac with the M3 chip about a year ago. International availability of this updated version has not been confirmed yet.
iMac equipped with an M4 processor
The latest iMac features the M4 chip, which boasts a CPU and GPU with up to 10 cores. Apple states that the CPU is 1.7 times faster for daily productivity activities than the previous M1 model, and 1.3 times faster in Excel compared to the M3 version.
The GPU in the new M4 chip is significantly more powerful than that of the M1 and M3, being twice as fast as the M1 and 1.1 times faster than the M3 when it comes to gaming. Additionally, the M4 features an improved 16-core Neural Engine that boosts Apple Intelligence performance, surpassing the M1 NPU by threefold in speed.

The latest iMac model offers a minimum of 16 GB RAM, exceeding the 8 GB found in the previous base version, and provides choices of 24 GB and 32 GB. It also features SSD storage starting from 256 GB, which can be expanded to 2 TB.
Apple’s latest desktop model retains the 24-inch Retina 4.5K display from the previous version, now offering a nanotextured glass option with a special coating for improved light diffusion. The coating is available for purchase separately at a price of $200.

The top-tier version of the new iMac features four Thunderbolt 4 ports that support Ethernet and can be used with two external monitors of 6K at 60 Hz or one monitor of 8K at 120 Hz. In comparison, the entry-level model comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports (without Ethernet) and is compatible with a single external monitor of 6K at 60 Hz.
Apple upgraded the camera on the device, providing a 12-megapixel sensor with support for “Center Stage,” ensuring the user stays centered in the frame. Additionally, the device includes the “Desk View” feature, displaying the user’s face and a top-down view of the table simultaneously.
Price and the possibility of acquiring something

This model can be purchased in six additional colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and blue, in addition to the unchanged original silver option.
