YouTube has revealed several enhancements for Shorts, including the ability to make videos up to three minutes long starting from October 15, fulfilling a common user demand.
New longer videos with a vertical aspect ratio will not impact previously published content prior to the release date. YouTube plans to enhance recommendations for these videos in the future.

Templates are now available to make it easier to create content. Users can remix and personalize Shorts by using these templates. In the future, users will also be able to use full YouTube video clips to create Shorts, allowing for a wider range of content options.

The update brings enhancements to trend identification, allowing users to monitor the latest popular content in real time through a new trends page on the mobile app.
