Android 16 may be launched earlier than expected.

Google recently revealed that it intends to launch the upcoming major version of Android sooner than usual. The expected release date for Android 16 is in the second quarter of 2025, with a potential leak hinting at the exact arrival date being earlier than expected.

Android 16 could potentially launch in the beginning of June.

Google intends to launch the Android 16 update on June 3, 2025, which is earlier than the AOSP release of Android 15, as per Android Headlines.

The AOSP and Pixel editions of Android 16 are expected to launch simultaneously, hinting that this could also mark the debut of the Pixel 10 series.

Google launched the final AOSP version of Android 15 on September 5 this year, followed by a dedicated update for the Pixel series on October 16, aiming to reduce the gap between releases.

Launching Android 16 earlier could be linked to upcoming significant smartphone launches in the second half of 2025, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, Samsung’s next foldable devices that may come with One UI 8.0 powered by the new Google system.

The company has not confirmed any of this information, so we have to wait for more details to learn about the search giant’s plans for Android 16. All we know is that the next version will be released earlier.
