Oi confirmed on October 1 that it will discontinue its IPTV service in November as part of its restructuring plan to prioritize more profitable services. Client contracts for IPTV will be terminated automatically, and the shutdown will be carried out gradually throughout November.

Customers who opt to retain Oi Fiber internet service after losing IPTV will receive benefits such as a speed upgrade, a complimentary mesh device for better Wi-Fi signal, and access to special promotions for three streaming services based on their package.

Oi’s legal reorganization process started in 2016 and has been extended in 2018 and 2023. The company reorganized approximately R$ 60 billion in debts and has initiated the auction for the sale of Oi Fibra, expected to be finalized on October 7 with V.tal possibly being the buyer. Moreover, Oi continues to run its satellite TV subscription service while seeking a purchaser for it.
